In a time when there is ever increasing focus on reducing their business operating costs, an often over looked area relates to the Utility Bills. Most people are aware that these costs can be high, but in general are unaware on how to tackle these costs and cost effective measures to reduce them.

This "Building Energy Audit" service comprises the review of the customer's utility bills, e.g. gas, oil, electricity, water etc and an inspection of the customers building and its engineering services.

Following the initial overview, we will be in a position to ascertain if there are significant running and energy cost savings are achievable. The energy usage is compared to standard industry benchmarks against similar buildings and "real and conclusive" savings are identified. At this point, the client/customer will be advised if their building/premise warrants a detailed energy audit.

Once medium to significant cost savings are identified in the utility bills and subject to client instruction, we will prepare a detailed report. This will comprise of monitoring of the various utilities to determine actual consumption and to validate areas where we feel running costs are high. If required, air leakage tests and thermographic studies, meter recordings, dynamic thermal simulations may be performed on the building to identify areas of excessive heat loss and quantify energy saving potentials. Energy saving options will be fully investigated and priced including predicted pay back periods.

The approach is a "rounded" and "holistic" one in which a range of energy and running cost measures are reviewed by independent energy consulting engineers. Renewable technologies, energy efficient heating and ventilation systems, fabric, insulation and thermal improvements, building air tightness are all reviewed and assessed.

Along with our professional partners, we can arrange for the recommendations of the report to be implemented. This will comprise of design documentation, installation of design, testing, commissioning, handover and demonstration of all designs and systems.
